About the Book: The book sheds light onto this native tree species, Banspata (Podocarpus nerifolius), found mainly in the northern part of Bangladesh. The authors first introduced the tree in the very first chapter. In the following chapters, the description, taxonomy, phenology, uses and description of species was covered. in the third chapter, the natural and plantation habitats of Banspata was explored. The fourth chapter talks about the different propagation and nursery techniques of Banspata such as vegetative propagation, germination, rooting number and ability, survival percentage, rooting behavior, tissue culture etc. The growth performance and survival percentage and effect of light intensity during the growing age of Banspata is discussed in the fifth chapter followed by more chapters on the diseases and pests that harm the tree, future seed source and the challenges that are faced.
