Mohammad Abidur Rahman

Mr. Mohammad Abidur Rahman has joined Arannayk Foundation in March, 2017 as a Technical Officer (GIS/RS). He is developing and implementing GIS/RS based monitoring, evaluation and research plans for the projects of Arannayk Foundation. Mr. Rahman will also contribute to future project proposals by planning research and monitoring projects and identifying potential new areas to apply GIS/RS technologies. He is involved in capacity building for field staffs of Arannayk and its partner organizations on GPS use, field data collection, and validation of analysis.

Before Arannayk Foundation, Mr. Rahman has worked as a Research Officer at WildTeam, a Bangladeshi NGO working for Bengal Tiger conservation, and it’s Bengal Tiger Conservation Activity (BaghActiity) funded by USAID. Mr. Rahman has five years of experiences in concept developing, planning, designing, implementing and leading ecological research projects including data analysis using statistical modeling and spatial analysis. While working at WildTeam, Mr. Rahman presented his scientific works multiple times at the Student Conference in Conservation Science (SCCS)held at the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge and awarded for his poster presentation.

Mr. Rahman has completed a post Graduate Diploma on Recanati-Kaplan Centre Post Graduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice from the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU), Department of Zoology, University of Oxford. He has published one scientific article in Global Change Biology, an International peer reviewed journal, based on one of his post-graduate diploma projects. Mr. Rahman has completed his Bachelor and Master’s in Geography and Environment from the University of Dhaka.
