Location : All the three CMCs are located at Moulvibazar District
Duration : 12 months effective from November 2010
Budget : BDT 3.00 million (USD 40,000)
Objectives :
  1. Promoting alternative livelihood for the forest dependent communities
  2. Promoting forest and biodiversity conservation
Achievements :

The CMCs identified forest dependent communities and potential alternative income generating activities for the forest dependent communities. Preference was given to the Community Patrol Group (CPG) members who are directly involved in forest conservation. The members were given loan of BDT 10,000 (from revolving loan fund) for AIG. The communities of Rema-Kalenga and Lawachara invested their loan for different activities which include small trade, cattle rearing, poultry rearing, nursery, aquaculture, etc. Satchari CMC used majority of its fund for raising 10 ha of social forestry plantation in buffer zone under benefit sharing mechanism. Effectiveness of livelihood support for forest conservation is yet to be measured as they have initiated the program only 2-3 months ago.
