International Interns

ABOUT ARANNAYK FOUNDATION

Arannayk Foundation, also known as the Bangladesh Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization established in 2003 through a joint initiative of the Governments of Bangladesh and the United States. Registered under Section 28 of the Bangladesh Companies Act 1994, it promotes the conservation, protection, restoration, and sustainable use of tropical forests across the country. The Foundation provides both financial and technical assistance to various stakeholders engaged in forest and biodiversity conservation, while also implementing projects funded by national and international development partners. 

 

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Arannayk Foundation invites applications from foreign nationals currently studying in Bangladesh and beyond, recent graduates, or international graduates with an interest in development and conservation work in Bangladesh.

 

This internship offers practical exposure to real-world conservation and development initiatives through field engagement and professional office-based learning.

 

Internship Areas

Interns may be placed in one or more of the following areas, depending on their background and organizational needs:

  • Forest, Wildlife and Biodiversity
  • Coastal, Marine, and Wetland
  • Environment, Climate Change, Agriculture and Energy
  • Program Development and Project Management
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
  • GIS and Remote Sensing
  • Communications, Advocacy and Knowledge Management
  • Human Resources and Wellbeing
  • Finance and Administration

 

What Interns Will Gain

POSITION SPECIFICATION – INTERNATIONAL INTERN 

Qualifications & Experience required for the position

 

Nationality

The applicant must be a foreign national.

 

Academic

  • Any subject
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from any recognized university.  

 

Language skills

Strong written and spoken communication skills in English

 

Computer literacy 

  • Proficiency in Office365
  • GIS and Remote Sensing skills and proficiency in design software (e.g. adobe creative suite) are required for relevant placements

 

Internship Duration

  • Minimum duration: 3 months
  • Maximum duration: 6 months

 

Salary

This is an unpaid internship. Selected interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, visa arrangements, living expenses and other relevant expenses. Arannayk Foundation will provide complementary lunch during office time and will cover the field expenses as per the organizational travel and per diem policy.

 

Number of positions

03 positions. The number of positions may change based on the requirements of the organization.

Demonstrated interest in conservation, sustainability, or development work in Bangladesh

Workstation

Arannayk Foundation Head Office in Dhaka, with field visits to its project sites.

Academic Qualification (last in the first order, preferably in a table).

Training received (only relevant training will be considered).

Relevant experiences, if any.

Additional qualification if any.

Name and contact details of two referees (academic supervisor only) with whom Arannayk Foundation can contact directly as and when needed.

A copy of the department’s recommendation letter.
