Workshop on Carbon Trading Opportunities in AFOLU Sector Projects: Access to International Voluntary Carbon Markets

Arannayk Foundation on July 25, 2023, at Bana Bhaban, organized a Stakeholder Workshop on Carbon Trading Opportunities in AFOLU Sector Projects: Access to International Voluntary Carbon Markets under a study to assess the institutional arrangements for accessing the international carbon market for afforestation investments supported by the World Bank.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Bhowmik, Hon'ble Additional Secretary (Climate Change Wing), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change delivered his remarks as the Chief Guest at the workshop.

Mr. Md. Amir Hosain Chowdhury, Hon'ble Chief Conservator of Forests, Bangladesh Forest Department chaired the workshop.

Mr. Md. Moyeenuddin Khan, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests, (Education and Training Wing), Bangladesh Forest Department attended the workshop as Special Guest.

Mr. Mohammad Hatem, Hon'ble Executive President, BKMEA participated in the workshop and delivered his remarks as one of the major private sector stakeholders.

Mr. Rakibul Hasan Mukul, Executive Director, Arannayk Foundation, and Dr. Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Professor and Discipline Lead (Finance), University of Southern Queensland, Australia jointly delivered the Presentation on Carbon Trading Opportunities in Voluntary Carbon Markets.
