Description

This is the third volume of a series of books published on the biodiversity of Protected Areas of Bangladesh. Each volume of this series covers both floral and faunal diversity of a particular Protected Area of Bangladesh. The main objectives of this series of books are to register biodiversity of Protected Areas with photographic documents. This volume is on Teknaf Wildlife Sanctuary and can be used as a pictorial field guide. Present conservation issues of this sanctuary are also included which might be useful for the preparation of management plans. All the photos included in this book are photographed by the BioTrack team members as stated in each photo. Aranyak Foundation (AF) with funding from USAID and support the Forest Department has been working on the Biodiversity Monitoring in Protected Areas project where six protected areas are being surveyed with a focus on biodiversity. As a part of this initiative, this book is published with the findings from the project “Biodiversity monitoring in Protected Areas of Bangladesh (BioTrack)”, financed by the Arannayk Foundation and implemented by the Wildlife Research Group of the Department of Zoology, Jahangirnagar University. This volume contains a total of 424 photos from Teknaf WS. Photos of 111 species of plants, 38 species of invertebrates, 8 species of fishes, 14 species of amphibians, 18 species of reptiles, 123 species of birds and 23 species of mammals are included in this volume.
